For Great Britain, the UK Gambling Commission says operators providing remote gambling to consumers in England, Wales and Scotland need a Gambling Commission licence. On 22 September 2026, I checked Rainbet, RBGAMING N.V. and rainbet.com against the official UKGC sources used for this review and did not find a matching business record. That search predates the present Rain Group Ltd disclosure and is not a fresh search for that company. Not finding a matching result in those searches does not, by itself, prove that no current record exists, so I would not make that stronger claim. What is clear is that neither website access nor Rainbet's Anjouan licence should be treated as proof that Rainbet is authorised to offer remote gambling to consumers in Great Britain.
Can You Access Rainbet in the UK, and Does Access Mean You Can Use It?
Whether a website loads and whether a user is permitted to gamble there are different questions. I have not tested Rainbet from a UK connection, so this page does not claim whether the site currently loads, blocks access or changes registration behaviour from a UK IP.
The decision has three separate layers:
| Layer | Question | Current Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Technical access | Does the website load from the user's location? | Not tested from a UK connection. A working URL would not prove permission or authorisation. |
| Rainbet eligibility | Does Rainbet itself permit use from that territory? | Rainbet's current Terms list the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as restricted and apply the rule to both residence and access from that territory. |
| Regulatory authorisation | Is the offering authorised for the relevant jurisdiction? | Great Britain requires a UKGC licence for remote gambling offered to consumers there. The official searches I checked did not show a matching Rainbet business record, but that search result alone is not conclusive proof of absence. |
This distinction matters because an offshore licence answers a different question from a Great Britain operating licence. It can identify the licensed operator, domain and licence status within that licensing framework, but it does not by itself establish authorisation from the UK Gambling Commission.
What the Current Evidence Says About Rainbet and the UK
Rainbet's Terms and AML policy checked on 29 October 2026 name Rain Group Ltd, registration number 16077 in Anjouan. The Anjouan register observation used in this guide dates from 22 September 2026 and named RBGAMING N.V. under licence ALSI-152406029-FI2 for rainbet.com, with a recorded validity period from 14 June 2024 to 13 June 2027. That historical entry is not a newly verified licence record for Rain Group Ltd.
| Source | Current Finding | What It Proves | What It Does Not Prove | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rainbet Terms | The restricted-country clause includes the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It covers both residence and access, and says residents of restricted countries cannot deposit or play. | Rainbet's current contractual territory restriction. | UK or Great Britain regulatory authorisation. | 22 September 2026 |
| Anjouan licence register | The entry checked on 22 September 2026 named RBGAMING N.V. for rainbet.com under B2C licence ALSI-152406029-FI2, with validity dates of 14 June 2024 to 13 June 2027. Its current entry was not reverified in this update. | The recorded operator, domain and Anjouan licence status within that licensing framework. | Authorisation from another jurisdiction's regulator or endorsement of the operator's services. | 22 September 2026 |
| UK Gambling Commission | Remote gambling offered to consumers in Great Britain requires a Gambling Commission licence. The official searches I checked did not show a matching Rainbet business record. | The Great Britain licensing requirement and the result of the checks described here. | A search no-match alone does not establish a definitive regulator finding that no relevant record exists. | 22 September 2026 |
The jurisdiction wording matters. Rainbet's restriction names the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as one territory. The UK Gambling Commission's remote-gambling licensing remit is Great Britain, meaning England, Wales and Scotland; it states that it does not regulate the provision of remote gambling in Northern Ireland. Those points should not be collapsed into one generic claim that Rainbet is simply "UK licensed" or "UK banned".
For broader questions about legitimacy, ownership and reputation, see the full Rainbet review.
What This Means for a UK User
The practical point is simpler than the regulatory wording: Rainbet's current Terms restrict use by people who are resident in, or accessing the site from, the territory named above. The same Terms prohibit VPNs, proxies and similar tools when they are used to mask or manipulate a user's real location.
Rainbet may also verify identity and location, and its Terms allow account or service restrictions in certain verification situations. That should not be read as an automatic consequence of every UK location issue.
I would also avoid describing Rainbet as simply "banned in the UK". The evidence is more specific than that: Rainbet's own Terms restrict the UK, while Great Britain has a separate UKGC authorisation requirement.
For the wider location list, use Rainbet countries and restrictions. If Rainbet is not suitable for your location, compare alternatives to Rainbet rather than trying to bypass a territory rule.
How to Check a Rainbet UK Claim Before Relying on It
- Read the current Rainbet restricted-territory clause rather than relying on an affiliate summary.
- Check the current operator, licence number, status and domain in the relevant licence register.
- For Great Britain, search the UK Gambling Commission register using the operator, trading name and domain.
- Check the date, because territory rules and licensing records can change.
- Do not treat a working website, an offshore licence badge or an affiliate claim as sufficient proof on its own.
Rainbet's Terms require users to be at least 18, or the higher legal gambling age that applies in their jurisdiction. See responsible gambling for the site's safer-gambling guidance.
